There are very few Queen Anne-style buildings in Boise, so the building that currently houses Ocho’s cocktail bar and was built in 1892 catches many an eye. As some of you mentioned in responding to last week’s “Where Is It?”, it’s been home to a lot of businesses, including a furniture gallery, rug store, apartments, and more.
Ocho’s opened in 2020, and has a full cocktail bar with wines and beers on tap. The first floor is the bar and lounge space, with access to the patio behind the building, while the second floor is dedicated to dancing.Ocho’s has a minimum of two dance lessons on their calendar per week:
- A monthly series of four Argentine Tango lessons on Wednesdays, $40-$50.
- Swing lessons by SwingOut, every other Thursday, $10.
- Salsa and Bachata lessons every Friday, $12.50.
- Milonga lessons on first and third Saturdays, $15.

Even if you're not a dancer, Ocho's is worth the visit solely for their stellar cocktails. (@ochos_boise / Instagram)
