Say you had a few too many hangovers in 2023 — luckily, you aren’t going to be sentenced to a dry January of tasteless sodas anymore. As Sober ‘N Boise organizer Veronica Schmidt told City Cast Boise last January, things are looking up.

How To Finish Dry January Strong In Boise

Here are a few local places that put time and energy into their non-alcoholic drinks.

Free Spirits Beverage Company

You can find the Free Spirits Beverage Company’s iOne Bitters around town, but they have their own lounge on Orchard on the Bench, which is open Wednesday - Saturday.

Karuna Kava Bar & Beverage Company

Located in Garden City, Karuna Kava is zero-proof, and designed around the South Pacific Island plant kava. Check out their lounge, and see if it’s for you!

Free Spirits and Karuna Kava are the only totally alcohol-free bars in town.

Water Bear Bar

The Water Bear Bar rotates their menu frequently, but owner Kylie North said her and her team take their non-alcoholic drink menu seriously. Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful — if you can’t find something on the menu, they’ll be able to point you to something gorgeous and zero-proof.

Art Haus Bar

KIN’s Art Haus Bar is another good spot if you want something crafted with thought and expertise instead of a soda that costs seven dollars.

Jess said: “My wife and I have found that these places serve up some great mocktails: Red Feather, Bittercreek, Hap Hap Lounge, and Little Pearl (when they’re open again.)”

Allison also said Thick as Thieves has incredible non-alcoholic cocktails.

Luckily, it seems that everyone has at least a few non-alcoholic drink options on their menus these days, and we love to see it! Cheers!
