One of the best parts about summer is the excuse to indulge in ice cold treats to cool off from the sweltering Boise heat. From frozen mangonadas to shaved ice to ice cream — we’ll have more of that, please! Here are some of the City Cast Boise’s favorite spots to satisfy that sweet tooth this summer in Boise 🍨
This popular ice cream and frozen dessert spot has really delicious flavors with fun names. Check out the “Idaho Wilderness” boasting lavender notes with berries. Plus, they have great booze-infused ice cream for the 21 and over and dairy free and vegan options.
Calling all serious sweet tooths: This bubble tea shop is perfect for you! Grab a classic boba milk tea or live large with their brown sugar milk tea with a creme brulee topping. You can also order a frozen mangonada here, a popular Mexican treat with mango, lime, and chamoy that’s filled with either lemonade or Red Bull.
Picture this: A blended drink with cherry syrup, Sprite, and ice cream. You might expect this to be heavy, but our team found the very popular Pink Elephant drink at this burger shop surprisingly and wonderfully refreshing.
When you want to have something cold and creamy this summer, but still want to feel healthy, head to this smoothie shop. A standout is the strawberry banana protein smoothie with nut milk and agave. Plus, they drizzle a chia seed strawberry jam at the bottom for a phenomenal finish.
When they say they’re an emporium, oh, they meant that. This spot on South Bown Way is super popular with the kids. They sell a variety of candies, chocolates, and they boast delicious old-fashioned gelato flavors.
And for our possibly most controversial take: This chocolate shop may have THE best ice cream flavor in the Treasure Valley. The Cowboy Cake flavor is a super moist Texas sheet cake mixed with vanilla ice cream featuring a thick fudge frosting layer. They only sell this flavor in small batches, so pull up only if you’re ready to have your life changed!
