Bev the brown dog sits next to her owner, wearing a red harness and a small green hardhat with a baseball logo.

Say hello to Dr. Beverly Crusher aka Bev. You’ve likely heard our City Cast Boise host Emma Arnold describe Bev as a very sweet and people-pleasing girl. Like her brother Chip, she loves spending time at Dog Island in Ann Morrison Park where she throws herself in a muddy puddle every time. (Emma Arnold)

Boise loves dogs and we have proof. We asked Boiseans, City Casters, and friends to share photos of their very good dogs with us. These are their mugs.

  • Black and brown Chihuahua dachshund mix dog in pink harness sits atop a mountain, staring at a treat from its owner.

Say hello to Winnie! She’s a chihuahua dachshund mix. When Winnie isn’t helping Idaho Capital Sun reporter Mia Maldonado cover the news, she’s exploring the outdoors. Good luck trying to keep up with Winnie — she’s a speedy girl! (Mia Maldonado)

  • Golden retriever Dodger wears a yellow harness and sits in a few inches of water, looking to its left with its tongue out.

Say hello to Dodger! He’s an adventurous golden retriever. Dodger is happiest when he’s in the water with his mom Rosie. He uses his life jacket to go paddle boarding and swimming in Idaho’s outdoors. Did someone say granola boy summer? (Rosie Piper)

  • Tan pug Lucy sits atop a rock in a pink harness, looking up at its owner.

Say hello to Lucy! She’s a sassy 15-year-old pug. Do we have any “Golden Girls” fans? Lucy’s mom Shelly describes her as a true Dorothy who can spend an entire walk sniffing everything in front of her. (Shelly Volsche)

  • Golden retriever Ruby sits in a grassy area, fur full of mud.

Say hello to Ruby! She’s a young golden retriever, who makes Boise State Public Radio’s Jimmy Dawson’s life a lot more interesting. Ruby loves a good spa day at the dog park, even in the winter months! Mud bath, anyone? (Jimmy Dawson)

  • Black and tan dachshund mix dog lays in a field of grass, mostly covered by vegetation. Clear blue skies above.

Meet Chip! He’s the famous 19-year-old dachshund mix who likes to interrupt our City Cast Boise host Emma Arnold during her recordings. This wise old man loves going to Dog Island in Ann Morrison Park and riding as passenger prince in his mom’s convertible. (Emma Arnold)

  • Say hello to Lily, she’s a lab border collie mix! Originally from Portland, Lily now takes pride in being a Boise resident. She loves all things Boise, especially running the trails and swimming at Ann Morrison’s Dog Island. (Sydney Boutros)
