Only a couple of people got last week’s “Where Is It?” so I highly recommend you acquaint yourself with Amina’s African Sambusas on Overland Road.
Until recently, I’d only had their sambusas, served at events around town, like Juneteenth and at farmer’s markets.
Their storefront has been open since the summer of 2021, and serves several iconic eastern African foods, including barees dishes (“barees” means “rice” in Somali) and sambusas, but also some western African dishes like fufu.

Here are some excerpts of Google reviews for the restaurant:
Matthew: “Truly unique and absolutely excellent. 100% recommend. …This is a no frills place focused on making a selection of dishes well. The prices and portions are excellent.”
Wil: “You will not be disappointed. Probably some of the best food in Boise. If you’re a first timer, definitely try the fufu and chicken!”
Shelby: “Food and service was exquisite! We will definitely be back!”
