Made in the Shade: 100K More Trees in Boise?
We know Boise is nicknamed the City of Trees. But how deep do those roots go?
Today on the podcast, our producer Jennifer Jerrett tells us about the City of Trees Challenge which aims to get 100,000 urban trees planted by 2030. We chat about the city’s climate goals and how homeowners can contribute to our tree canopy with some drought tolerant options. And, we learn what to do (and what not to do) after Jennifer’s own backyard beautifying with some new trees this year.
Later on the show, we talk about a map that shows where our canopy cools things the most and the clean air and water effects our urban forest has on the community.
Interested in participating in the challenge or getting a free tree? Start here, and learn more from the Treasure Valley Canopy Network. Oh, and be sure to check here before you start digging!
