Student Wins Seat on Boise School Board
18-year-old Boise High senior Shiva Rajbhandari loves to ski and runs track and cross country. And as of last week’s Boise school board election, he’s going to have a new project for his free time — helping to shape the future of our public schools. That’s right: a current student is about to be on the school board — a first for our city.
Journalist Heath Druzin chats with host Frankie Barnhill about this and other results from our last election. Plus: how far-right groups continue to target school boards and libraries in the Treasure Valley.
And later in the podcast: have you gotten your bivalent COVID-19 booster yet? After a slight delay the shots can be found at a bunch of places around the valley, with appointments-a-plenty. If your last booster or original series of shots was more than two months ago, it’s a good idea to get the jab now to beat a likely surge of cases. Here’s a handy vaccine finder: https://bit.ly/3BzuKkx. You can even get the jab without leaving your car: https://bit.ly/3QEViVA.
