The days are long, the sun is shining, the river is high — grab your water bottle and sunscreen, because it’s time to celebrate June in the City of Trees!
Hit All the Markets
We’ll keep the City Cast Boise’s events page full of the markets coming up, especially because market season really kicks off this weekend. The farmers markets can be your consistent supply of local goods, but there are plenty of others to try like the relatively new Meridian Night Market.
Tip: On the podcast guide, Idaho Statesman reporter Rachel Spacek let us know you can volunteer at the upcoming Summery Market and get in for free — and plenty of other markets are also looking for volunteers.
Eat Something New, Preferably at a Food Truck
Someone should create a Pokémon Go-style app for trying all the food trucks in town, because sometimes chasing down a food truck really does feel like a game. The Boise Food Trucks group is maybe as close as we can get for now.
Still, if you have a favorite local summertime food truck, send it in and I’ll compile a sequel to last summer’s list! A few options on City Cast Boise’s radar: Basquenese, Just BEE Açaí, and Lucky Root Tacos. And keep your eyes peeled for new options as the summer goes on because just a couple months ago, the City of Boise cut some red tape around food truck licensing.
For outdoor eating at a table, seek out a rooftop or patio establishment — it’s the only way we can get more of them!
See You at the Show
In addition to the June entries on this summer food festival list, there are a few more festivals to consider putting on your calendar this month.

Even better, make your plans weekly or monthly with one of these concert series around the valley:

- Open Air concerts at Ste. Chappelle Winery
- Outdoor Summer Concert Series at JUMP
- Ford Idaho Center amphitheater shows
- Outlaw Field music series
