Boise’s home to more than 20 craft breweries, each of which is its own reason to try some local beers. City Cast Boise Lead Producer Frankie Barnhill and contributor Heath Druzin teamed up to deliver some self-described “unqualified, completely made up” advice about the beer scene last year, though it sounds like they have plenty of experience in the arena.

Where to Watch/Play a Game
Western Proper: A “choose-your-own-adventure” place supplied with Western Collective beers.
Lost Grove: Great place for trivia. Plus, they’re a B orp!

Where to Get a Meal With Your Beer
Highlands Hollow: An oldie but goodie, with a cozy fireplace.
Payette: Queen’s food trailer outside has one of Boise’s best Nashville fried chicken sandwiches.

Where to Really ✨ Experience ✨ Your Beer
Barbarian Brewing: They’re down for off-the-wall flavors, and they’re friendly to beginners with a good selection for the non-IPA crowd.
Woodland Empire: A casual spot with enough options to get particular if you want.

Remember, support your local breweries! Where’s your favorite spot for a local beer? Any new brews you want to shout out? Write in!
