As we dive into summer, the travel season is rapidly approaching the City of Trees. And whether you’re here for the first time or you have an incoming guest, Boise’s ready to make a good impression.
So where can you go for the ultimate Boise experience? On the City Cast Boise podcast, local lifestyle influencer Rosie Piper helped us create a quintessential itinerary highlighting some of our city’s best beginner-friendly restaurants and attractions to make the most of our long summer days.
Where to Spend Your Morning
Rosie says she's a big fan of starting her morning with a breakfast sandwich from Certified Kitchen and Bakery in Boise’s Hyde Park. Then she suggests checking out local markets, like the Boise Farmers Market on Saturdays, where you can walk around, pick up local produce, and search for fun knick-knacks! I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for Just Bee Acai.
Where to Spend Your Afternoon
Lose track of time by checking out Antique World Mall where you can hunt for affordable antiques and vintage items. After your treasure hunt, head to Garden City where you’ll find delicious pizza, appetizers, and drinks at Black Moon to satisfy your appetite.
Where to Spend Your Evening
Make your way to Downtown Boise for dinner at Percy or its sister restaurant The Wylder (I recommend the chicken sandwich and Honey Badger pizza, respectively). Grab some cocktails, engage in good conversation, and enjoy the sunset on the patio. But if there’s a long wait, Rosie suggests hopping over to Mother Earth Brewing and grabbing a drink while you wait for dinner. Host tip: Make reservations ahead of time!
No Boise Trip is Complete Without…
A Goldstein's bagel! Before a full day of travel, move your body with a hike around Camel’s Back to take in the city’s unique scenery. After you get some fresh air, reward yourself with a tasty bagel. Rosie says this bagel is to die for!
