Boise just got SO much more zoomies-friendly.

Every one of Ann Morrison Park’s 153 acres is now off-leash, and so is the 51-acre Optimist Youth Sports Complex. These two parks welcome dogs off their leashes during the winter, through Feb. 28, every year, and Optimist also allows them June 1 through Aug. 31.

So with that news, get familiar with the dog parks around Boise! The map below is part of this really helpful pamphlet from the City of Boise with all the information you need to know about where and when dogs can go off-leash.

Just because a park says it's off-leash doesn't mean it's always off-leash, and vice versa — so take a minute to get familiar with the timeframes and where they apply. (Boise Parks and Recreation / City of Boise)

Use this handy map from the city to find your neighborhood dog-friendly areas, or a new spot to try.

Keep in mind, though, that you’re still responsible for picking up after your dog and making sure that they can be kept under control. On designated off-leash trails, for example, dogs have to stay on the trail and within 30 feet of their humans.
